The night Barack Obama clinched the Democratic nomination for president, Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong found himself experiencing an unfamiliar emotion: hope. My Morning Jacket on ruling Bonnaroo and going R&B with their killer hit disc "Evil Urges"
For their 35th and final song at Bonnaroo, as a steady rain soaked Tennessee, My Morning Jacket eased into a cover of Mötley Crüe's "Home Sweet Home." It wasn't the only special moment during the four-hour, career-defining set — which included most of the band's new Evil Urges, killer covers of James Brown's "Cold Sweat" and Erykah Badu's "Tyrone," and a guest spot from Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett ("an up-and-comer," said MMJ frontman Jim James), who shredded on the 2003 jam...

Popcorn movies, cool beach reads and a scooter that delivers beer: what more do you need for summer?
1. Summer Movie Showdown: What Can Top Iron Man?
Angelina Jolie, Will Smith and Batman face off
"It's 'no one knows anything' time," Variety editor Peter Bart says of this year's summer movies, citing screenwriter William Goldman's famous line about how fruitless it is to predict a Hollywood smash. Indeed, when you consider that an unconventional superhero film starring a once-incarcerated ex-drug addict is the number-one movie of the season (Iron Man, at $300 million)...

Video: Behind the Scenes With Mötley Crüe
About an hour before showtime, here's how the four members of Mötley Crüe spend their time: Singer Vince Neil lifts weights. Bassist Nikki Sixx plays loud music. Drummer Tommy Lee plays unbelievably loud music. "The music is on 'stun,' " Lee brags. And guitarist Mick Mars meditates as far away from Lee as possible. "When we all shared dressing rooms, I was a wreck," Mars says. " 'Dude, do you have to beat on the trash can? Let's...

It might seem super hard to believe it, but pretty pop princess Kelly Clarkson has admitted that she's never been in love. The 25 year-old Idol winner spills all in this month's issue of Elle Magazine in the US, where she is featured on the cover. She said "I know people probably think I've been heartbroken, because of the stuff I've sung and written. I love my friends and family. But I have never said the words 'I love you' to anyone in a romantic relationship. Ever. I am very old-school, conservative in my thinking when it comes to relationships. Love is something you work at. It doesn't come easily. There are going to be bad days. You are going to have to work at loving someone when they are being an idiot. People think they're just going to meet the perfect guy. Don't be ridiculous."
Poor old Kelly has been going through a rough time recently. There's been a run in with Clive Davis over her upcoming CD, “My December", where he allegedly made an offer of $10 million if Kelly ditched five of her songs for more radio-friendly. In the meantime, expect to see Kelly in a city near you as she travels across the US this summer as part of her tour.

Lily Allen says that the stresses of being on tour have made her turn to drink. She said "I'm an alcoholic now. It's not good and that's why I want to get back into the studio. I've actually pulled myself aside and said it will kill me if I keep it up. I've got to stop abusing myself because as far as I'm concerned every loon hates me now." Even her actor Dad, Keith Allen, is said to be very worried about her.
But there are signs of hope that she'll be back in England and settling down to "normal" life again very soon. She's just splashed out £600,000 on a new home in Hackney, East London. She's set to move in to the new Victorian property with her boyfriend, record label A+R man Seb Chew. And don't forget that you can also catch Lily at Glastonbury (June 22 to 24).

UB40 is suing Paris Hilton's record label for £250,000 in the High Court in London, claiming breach of copyright over her hit single "Stars Are Blind". Paris, who was at the MTV Movie awards on Sunday, recorded the song last year and it reached a respectable number eighteen on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. However, according to UB40, the song is a copy of a substantial part of Kingston Town, written in 1989 by Kendrick Patrick. Paris is already due to report to prison in California on Tuesday for violating for violating her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case - let's hope this latest legal challenge doesn't land her in even more hot water. Do you think the starlet copied the UB40 track? Here are the two songs to help you make up your own mind:

R&B singer Rihanna has made it to the top of the UK Charts, and has made history doing so. The Barbados-born babe, who was busy performing at Radio One's Big Weekend in Preston this weekend, scored the success with her single "Umbrella". What's special about this achievement is that the single hasn't even gone on sale in physical format yet - the single is due to be released in stores next week (28th May). However, download sales for this track have been so strong that she was able to knock McFly ? from the top spot and soar to number 1 on downloads alone. This is the very first time that this has been done since rules changed to make downloads eligible for the chart. What a success story!
